LADY RAIDERS VOLLEYBALL DOMINATES COVENANT COLLEGE

The Lady Raiders volleyball team achieved a significant milestone on October 2, as they defeated Covenant College in a clean sweep (25-17, 26-24, 25-9). The victory marked the first loss of the season for Covenant, highlighting the Lady Raiders' impressive performance.

The Lady Raiders started the match strong, taking control of the first set with powerful kills from Frida Hoellger and Hannah Harnichar. Covenant put up a stronger fight in the second set, but Roane State remained composed and secured a narrow victory. The third set was complete dominance for the Lady Raiders, as they showcased their offensive prowess and defensive tenacity.

Frida Hoellger led the offensive charge with 10 kills, followed by Hannah Harnichar with eight. Solene Roussel also contributed effectively with five kills. On the defensive end, Haley Ledford played a crucial role in blocking Covenant's attacks, limiting scoring opportunities. Jaylynn Bullock and Frida Hoellger also contributed to the defensive effort with their service aces.

"This victory was a result of a strong team effort, with every player contributing to our success," said Lady Raiders Head Coach Steve Dallman. "This win is a significant boost to the team's confidence as we continue our conference schedule."

Roane State's next match will be at home against Chattanooga State on October 8, 2024. Roane State will host "Dig for a Cure" night during that match, collecting donations for breast cancer awareness. The Lady Raiders encourage fans to come out and show their support.
